Protesting Slime Athlete... since July 26th, 2004

Sham... there is no other word to describe it. Having promised loyal legions of slime sports fans the opportunity to compete with each other over the internet, slimeathlete.com has not only broken its promise, but it has broken its promise with malice. Said to debut on July 4, 2004, the "Gaming Revolution" (as the slime athlete people like to refer to it... unabashedly [yet shamefully] comparing the slime athlete debut with the American Revolution, which unless you don't know, resulted in July 4th as being Independence Day), was to bring the popular slime sports games (see section), onto the forefront of Internet gaming. But it was not so.  As July 4th came and went, the network was yet unoperating. It was promised then that slime network will be working by July 10th.  But once again, it was not so. From hence on, whenever anyone tries to launch the supposed "slime console", he or she is greeted by this rotten message:

 Update: The games are almost out; we are now waiting for approval from our signing authority. Thank you for your patience

Just how long is "almost out" going to take? This message has been on for several weeks (as we are writing), and indeed, we are getting impatient. It is an outright sham, and slime athlete is lying, wasting our time, all the while disgracing the slime sports phenomenon. 

Why do we complain? 

Even prior to its announcement of the Slime Network, slimeathlete.com has had a bad standing within the slime sports community. The unbelievable number of pop-ups made it nearly impossible to get around.  The main gist was this: It was trying to make money off slime sports games, which were already free and popup-less in other places. Not to mention, they didn't even make any of the games! All of the slime sports games (Dodgeball Slime,
AllStar Slime, Flying Slime, Rugby Slime, Slime Basketball, Slime BowlingSlime, CricketSlime, SoccerSlime, Squash, SlimeVolleyball) were previously made by others, who did it all for FREE. Now Slime Athlete is trying to make money off of them. That only raises more speculation that Slime Network, might not actually exist, but is actually a ploy used by Slime Athlete to gain more advertising traffic, and thus make more money! 

Now comes Slime Network, which promised to bring slime sports online. This promise failed miserably. Either the slime athlete people are exceedingly lazy (considering their last news post was in June), or this is one big fraud. Either way, they are wasting our time (especially those of us who check in at least once a day) all the while making money off all the pop-ups. That is why I suggest you use a pop-up blocker whenever accessing their website. Make sure they deserve every advertising cent they get.

Furthermore, the only available means of communication between Slime Network hopefuls were through their chat room. When it became apparent that Slime Network was getting very delayed, many people began expressing their complaint in the chat. So what does Slime Athlete do? The most cowardly act possible - which was to block everyone from accessing their chat room. They did not indicate any reason whatsoever on their website, and even now it still encourage you to visit the chat. Therefore, the only reasonable reason for this act would have been they wanted to shut down any opposing voice.  

The company information page says this:

SlimeAthlete is a holding of PolariStar LLC, a Connecticut-based web development firm that aims to promote the capacity and overall integrity of the Internet in order to improve global communication.

It's ironic that they mention "integrity", when it is obvious they do not have any.

PolariStar takes a unique approach to every project it completes, adding features and quality that are rare to the current content base of the Internet.

My ass.

So then...

Because our channels of complaint are now closed, we have decided to open up this open-forum/petition site. You can post freely any comments/concerns you may have reagarding SlimeAthlete.com's Slime Network endeavor. No matter what, we will be heard, and this website will be online until either SlimeAthlete releases a public apology and an applicable reason, or Slime Network finally works.
